Do You Love Me? Feed My Sheep. The Last Breakfast

Yes! You read it right. ‘The Last Breakfast.’ Most Believers are all too familiar with the Last Supper, but often overlook the importance of the ‘Last Breakfast’ the disciples shared on the shores of Galilee before Christ’s ascension to the Father.

Several apotheosized events happened during the Last supper. Jesus foretold of His suffering and crucifixion death for the kingdom of God (Luke 22:15-16). Believers everywhere faithfully observe Passover and Communion in remembrance of our beloved Savior. During this same meal Jesus revealed Judas Iscariot’s betrayal (Matthew 26:21-24), and foretold of Peter’s denial (Luke 22:34).

An often overlooked lesson learned during the evening of the Last Supper was when Jesus taught the principles of servant-hood as He washed His disciples’ feet: But not so among you; on the contrary, he who is greatest among you, let him be as the younger, and he who governs as he who serves. For who is greater, he who sits at the table, or he who serves? Is it not he who sits at the table? Yet I am among you as the One who serves. (Luke 22:26-27)

You might be asking, “What is; And what does this have to do with the Last Breakfast?” Keep this question in mind while I add some more ingredients to deepen the flavor of this spiritual food. Continue reading →

Recurring SinsBreaking Chains of Sin

Just about the time that I think I have this whole sanctification process progressing…..I drop the ball, and sin again!

Oh!.. It doesn’t stop there, it just so happens that it is the same ole stupid stuff, just clothed in a different day. My old man sin nature rears his ugly head and slaps my sanctimonious self square in the face! (Romans 6:6)

Wait…It gets even better! I try to justify my actions with the rationalizations of; “I can handle ignorance because ignorance can be cured with education.” But, “Stupid is as Stupid does. Stupid has no excuse because it cannot hide behind ignorance,” et cetera, et cetera.

I have even tried to memorize (Proverbs 8:5). O you simple ones, understand prudence, And you fools, be of an understanding heart.

You would think; if I was so smart, I could then recall this verse for guidance and understanding to keep me from running off at the mouth, and doing even worse sins in my mind’s eye when confronted with STUPID’S STUPIDITY!

Some of you are way ahead of me, and you would be right in assuming that my mind runs headlong in the other direction. Showing my own STUPIDITY by recalling a misappropriated bible verse. A verse I abuse to aid me in wallowing around in my sinfulness. Continue reading →

Fifty Shades of Red ImageFifty Shades of Red

The time honored children’s hymn “Jesus Loves Me” Started as a three stanza Poem by Anna Bartlett Warner (1827–1915) originally published in an 1860 novel called “Say and Seal.” The novel was written by Anna’s older sister Susan Warner. In the novel the words of the poem were spoken to comfort a dying child.

The tune that I and many of you may remember from Sunday School and Vacation Bible School was added in 1862 by William Batchelder Bradbury. He also added the chorus that immortalized the tune, capable of transporting me back to my youth. A song that still fills my heart with immeasurable amounts of joy. Continue reading →

Hath God Said?Hath God Said?

There is ample debate over whether or not Eve lied or added to the word of God saying, “nor shall you touch it” when speaking with the serpent (Satan) about the forbidden fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?” And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.’” Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” (Genesis 3:1-5)

The debate even reaches further into whether or not, Moses just did not record it in the writing of Genesis. Or maybe, Adam embellished God’s mandate when he told Eve about the tree in the midst of the Garden. Eve could have even believed it in her own mind therefore technically not being a lie.

There are many more aspects of this debate that do not merit mention and only serve to redirect everyone’s attention away from the core lesson of truth. Continue reading →

Becoming A Well Balanced BelieverYour Spirit is housed in a Soul and Clothed in a Body

Do you really know yourself? Would you say that you are physically, spiritually, and emotionally well-balanced? Are you secure enough to say, “You feed on a healthy diet that nurtures your spirit, soul, and body?”

I look around me and constantly see believers who are spiritually malnourished, emaciated in their souls, and physically oppressed.

I believe the reason so many people are walking around with anemic lives is because they do not truly understand the diversity, yet interdependence between the spirit, soul, and body. Continue reading →

Lamp LightCustom Antler Lamps

From time to time I get these unrelenting urges. Just like a junkie needing a fix. I have to build ‘something’ to get my fix. My creative side swells within me, my mind begins obsessing on my next project. My world is truly out of balance unless I feed my addiction to create. From armoires to wooden buckets, these projects aid to take the edge off of life for me.

For a time, I can get lost in my world of thoughts and abate the stresses of life. I view this time as mini sabbaticals. An opportunity for me to rejuvenate my mind and soul, while creating some of the most beautiful and intimate treasures I own, or have blessed others with. The latest victims of my compulsion were a pair of antler lamps, while appropriating my wife’s birthday as the trigger that set me off.

God has not only blessed me with the talent, but with the incarceration of thoughts fixated on my projects completion, while listening to the words of wisdom He whispers into my mind’s eye. Together, we create masterpieces that will outlast my tenure of life. Together, I am resuscitated to live life head-on and fight. Together, my resolve is renewed and contentment in a contemptible world restored. Continue reading →

My Brother’s KeeperBrother's Keeper

Undoubtedly most people have heard or even themselves said, “Am I my brother’s keeper?”

This infamous phrase, “Am I my brother’s keeper?” was uttered by Cain, the first murderer in the history of mankind.

This first murder came shortly after mankind’s first sin. God expelled Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden for their sin of disobedience and wanting to Be Like God. Adam and Eve ate from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. (Genesis 3:6) Continue reading →

Satan Smack dab in the Middle Road of the RoadMiddle of the Road

This article will denounce all of the ambiguity and confusion surrounding a bible verse that speaks to all Christians who are intent on living a lie, full of compromise and hidden sins.

But if you do not do so, then take note, you have sinned against the Lord; and be sure your sin will find you out. (Numbers 32:23)

This verse, in its context, is speaking about following the Lord completely. To wholly follow the Lord entirely to the End.

There were two and a half Israel tribes – Reuben, Gad and half of Manasseh that wished to park themselves in the Middle of the Road. They approached Moses and begged him to let them have the territory east of the Jordon River as a ‘self imposed’ border for them and their great multitude of livestock. (Numbers 32:1,5) Continue reading →

10 Martyrs a Day!Gun Martyrs graphic

The First Amendment, amendment (1791) to the Constitution of the United States is a part of the Bill of Rights.

The First Amendment reads:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

In the United States we are privileged to enjoy this freedom of speech and religion. Yet, despite this freedom, most Christians do not exercise this exceptional right.

However; Some are willing to Die!

Christian persecution is defined as: Any hostility experienced from the world as a result of one’s identification and belief in Jesus Christ. Continue reading →
