The Last Breakfast
Yes! You read it right. ‘The Last Breakfast.’ Most Believers are all too familiar with the Last Supper, but often overlook the importance of the ‘Last Breakfast’ the disciples shared on the shores of Galilee before Christ’s ascension to the Father.
Several apotheosized events happened during the Last supper. Jesus foretold of His suffering and crucifixion death for the kingdom of God (Luke 22:15-16). Believers everywhere faithfully observe Passover and Communion in remembrance of our beloved Savior. During this same meal Jesus revealed Judas Iscariot’s betrayal (Matthew 26:21-24), and foretold of Peter’s denial (Luke 22:34).
An often overlooked lesson learned during the evening of the Last Supper was when Jesus taught the principles of servant-hood as He washed His disciples’ feet: But not so among you; on the contrary, he who is greatest among you, let him be as the younger, and he who governs as he who serves. For who is greater, he who sits at the table, or he who serves? Is it not he who sits at the table? Yet I am among you as the One who serves. (Luke 22:26-27)
