Unleavened Life
What I mean by an unleavened life is not limited to the obvious. What should be included is the leavening agents at the root of sin. The very essence of what causes your sin. Removing these things that cause the repetitive insanity of your own personal sins.
A little leaven leavens the whole lump (Galatians 5:7-10). The catalyst that rises up within your mind kneading you into sin. For some there is great anguish associated with the process of becoming an unleavened Christian.
If your sin is deeply rooted in your past it can take a lot of work to bring those tiny bubbles to the surface and expose them. There are also surface sins you continue to ignore and procrastinate about. These slowly burn deep into your life impeding your spiritual growth.
So, what can you do? There is a covenant answer! The bible gives us an answer in (1 Corinthians 5:7) NKJV “Therefore purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, since you truly are unleavened. For indeed Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us.” People this is good stuff. This covenant with the Lord can set you free! Jesus became that passover lamb to slaughter your sins. Verse 8 tells us to get real with ourselves and enter this covenant with sincerity and truth.
You can make a conscious choice to be free and eat some fantastic bread. I have entered into this special covenant in a quite literal way. I prepare unleavened bread once a month to go with BBQ. I do this monthly instead of yearly as a modern day covenant for my personal deliverance from the afflictions and oppressions of satan and sin. This is your own Egypt that enslaves our souls and spiritual growth (Jeremiah 31:31-34).
The unleavened bread of affliction in Deuteronomy 16:3 was eaten during passover and so called because the Jews were being delivered out of slavery in Egypt that same night. I added in the BBQ because in that day and age the people chose a lamb without blemish and roasted or barbecued as a sacrifice to the Lord (Deuteronomy 16:7).
This modern day Unleavened Bread Covenant should not be confused with Communion, the Passover, or Festival of Unleavened Bread (Exodus 12:17). I unfortunately sin daily and cannot wait yearly for a blessing and purging of sin. I need to be fortified with the love, blessings, and promises of “Some Jesus Things” perpetually.
Every time we take a bite of this unleavened bread prepared out of obedience reminds us of Jesus’ promise to deliver and sanctify us. This monthly act of obedience will enrich your life and be a blessing to everyone and everything it touches. Have some some fun enjoy some homemade bread and live an Unleavened Life.
I love your site! The article on unleavened life makes me stop and think about all the ways a person can change their life style to come into a better life with Jesus.
Thank you Sharren. That’s what it’s all about.., “to come into a better life with Jesus” Amen.
