The Day Jesus Dreads
People all over the world are quite familiar with the Easter holiday and what is represents. Believers are especially aware of the enormous sacrifice that our Savior endured on the Cross at Golgotha.
And He, bearing His cross, went out to a place called the Place of a Skull, which is called in Hebrew, Golgotha, where they crucified Him, and two others with Him, one on either side, and Jesus in the center. (John 19:17-18)
Believers also know that this was not The End. Jesus rose again triumphant over death as the way to eternal life.
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. (John 11:25)
Another commonly know fact is that Jesus was in great agony in the Garden of Gethsemane before He went to the cross. Even to the point of sweating great drops of blood.
And being in agony, He prayed more earnestly. Then His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground. (Luke 22:44)

It is often taught that Jesus sweat blood because of His anxiety or trepidation over the pain of torture He would endure. While this is true; it is only a half truth. Jesus certainly knew the horrors He would face as evidenced in the book of John. Continue reading →
