Wakey! Quakey! Creation Cries!
The world is drunk with sin and self, teetering on the edge of God’s judgment and righteous wrath. (2 Timothy 3:2-5) For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!
Take heed that God is in control and all of creation is destined to do His will. Fire and hail, snow and clouds; Stormy wind, fulfilling His word; (Psalm 148:8) “You are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created.” (Revelation 4:11)
The bible warns the sinner and gives hope to the saved. Creation is crying out to us in diverse ways yet most are too ignorant to hear the screaming thunderous noise. “But now ask the beasts, and they will teach you; And the birds of the air, and they will tell you; Or speak to the earth, and it will teach you; And the fish of the sea will explain to you. Who among all these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this, In whose hand is the life of every living thing, And the breath of all mankind? (Job 12:7-10) Then the trees of the woods shall rejoice before the Lord, For He is coming to judge the earth. (1 Chronicles 16:33)
God has designed His entire creation with complete perfection and purpose. Whether the secular world likes it or not, God’s judgment is coming and this blasphemous world is running out of time. Secular Society thinks it has it all figured out. Science is king and knowledge is the powerful key to understanding the universe. This so called wisdom teaches every atrocity from evolution to aliens. God is far more intelligent than any mortal genius or secular god. (Isaiah 55:8-9) “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.
(Revelation 5:13)
And every creature which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying: “Blessing and honor and glory and power Be to Him who sits on the throne, And to the Lamb, forever and ever!”
The real truth and reality is too simply and easy to understand. Satan has deceived man into being over educated idiots. God humbled Himself and even dumb-ed himself down enough to write a book that we barely can comprehend (Bible). Even his manual the bible ( [B] basic [I] instructions [B] before [L] leaving [E] earth) is over-theologized and complicated so that some men can appear wiser than others. To top it off some religions through perversion from Satan teach and instruct their congregational members that they can’t, shouldn’t, or sin if they try to read the bible for themselves.
Creation Cries out to us a warning. It’s creaturely inhabitants are living proof to the bible’s sovereign Deity. Even its Earthquakes have consistently marked key moments in bible history. And will mark some pivotal moments in the future. A few of these penned in the bible help enlighten people to God’s word and the earth’s “relationship reactions” to God its creator.
Creation Earthquake
Imagine the violent convulsions as the seas, oceans, and land coalesce together. The mighty concussion as the continental plates impact crashing together.
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. (Genesis 1:1-2) Then God said, “Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear”; and it was so. And God called the dry land Earth, and the gathering together of the waters He called Seas. And God saw that it was good. (Genesis 1:9)
Ten Commandments Earthquake
Let’s start with Moses. We learn through scriptures about the earth’s “relationship reaction” when God physically came down from heaven to Mt. Sinai to pen the ten commandments in His very own handwriting.
Now Mount Sinai was completely in smoke, because the Lord descended upon it in fire. Its smoke ascended like the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mountain quaked greatly. (Exodus 19:18) The mountains gushed (melted) before the Lord, This Sinai, before the Lord God of Israel. (Judges 5:5) The earth shook; The heavens also dropped rain at the presence of God; Sinai itself was moved (shook) at the presence of God, the God of Israel. (Psalm 68:8)
Evidence of the charring and burn scars remain to this day. This article’s feature photo is of the summit of Mt Sinai, by Ian Sewell (Dec 2004)
Here we can see the earth has a physical reaction to God’s presence. This explains a reaction, now; let me explain what I mean by the earth’s relationship with its creator.
Jesus created everything. Everything in the universe, heavens, or on earth. All things created are for His glory and praise. Man made in the image of God and designed for a loving cohabitation relationship with the free will choice to do His will.
Jesus the creator. (John 1:1-4) (Colossians 1:16)
Man created in God’s own image. (Genesis 1:27)
The reason man was created. (Ephesians 1:11-12) (Colossians 3:23)
The above verses are irrefutable proof that everything created was designed by Jesus for Jesus. Yes even Satan/Lucifer himself. Since Satan’s fall from heaven (Revelation 12:9) his relentless mission is to pervert and deceive everything Jesus created. Mankind has been duped into worshiping him and the created not the Creator.
Since man is failing miserably to his job, Creation is crying out in the only ways that it can, all of creation will cry out louder and louder if we keep our mouths muzzled. If we remain silent and refuse to put our faith into words and praise the Lord. Creation will be forced to do it in our stead.
The Stones Would Cry Out!
An example of creations relationship and duty to God is expressed by Jesus on Palm Sunday on His way to cleanse God’s temple in Capernaum. Jesus tells the Pharisees how the “cow ate the cabbage.” (Luke 19:37-40) Then, as He was now drawing near the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works they had seen, saying: “ ‘Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord!’ Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!” And some of the Pharisees called to Him from the crowd, “Teacher, rebuke Your disciples.” But He answered and said to them, “I tell you that if these should keep silent, the stones would immediately cry out.”
A quick couple of verses in the bible that shows us how God’s creation praises Him can be found in the Book of Psalms (Hebrew: תְּהִלִּים or תהילים Tehillim meaning “Praises”). (Psalm 98:8) Let the rivers clap their hands; Let the hills be joyful together before the Lord,
In the Book of Isaiah (a prophet said to have lived around the time of 8th-century BC in the Kingdom of Judah). (Isaiah 55:12) “For you shall go out with joy, And be led out with peace; The mountains and the hills Shall break forth into singing before you, And all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.
Crucifixion Earthquake
Another pivotal point in History where Creation’s relationship with its Creator is made evidence, is at Jesus’ Crucifixion on the cross. When Jesus cried out, “It is finished!” (John 19:30) Creation responded to Jesus’ crucial finished work in a dramatic way. All of scripture is fulfilled, Satan’s fate is sealed, mankind’s destiny established, and a pathway to Heaven through Jesus implemented. For a detailed explanation of Jesus’ life read more here: http://somejesusthings.com/humble-summary-jesus-life/
Then, behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split, and the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised; and coming out of the graves after His resurrection, they went into the holy city and appeared to many. So when the centurion and those with him, who were guarding Jesus, saw the earthquake and the things that had happened, they feared greatly, saying, “Truly this was the Son of God!” (Matthew 27:51-54)
Amazingly, the earth responded to its creator in a dramatic way. In the form of a violent quake; but wait, that’s not all! There was a corresponding earthquake that most people are not aware of and passed over by preachers. The earth makes an resurrection announcement of praise with a great quake too!
Resurrection Earthquake
Now after the Sabbath, as the first day of the week began to dawn, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb. And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat on it. His countenance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow. And the guards shook for fear of him, and became like dead men.
This show us that the earth responds to Jesus its creator and cries out to proclaim his presence. Scriptures profess a future event. In this event creation cries out with an earthquake that will rip the Mount of Olives apart and create a huge valley in the middle between the two halves.
Then the Lord will go forth And fight against those nations, As He fights in the day of battle. And in that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, Which faces Jerusalem on the east. And the Mount of Olives shall be split in two, From east to west, Making a very large valley; Half of the mountain shall move toward the north And half of it toward the south. Then you shall flee through My mountain valley, For the mountain valley shall reach to Azal. Yes, you shall flee as you fled from the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Thus the Lord my God will come, and all the saints with You. (Zechariah 14:3-5)
The verses that Zechariah refers to comes from the book of Amos 750 B.C.. The panic and shock caused by Amos’ Earthquake must have been the hot topic In Ancient Jerusalem, of which legends are born. Mainly because Zechariah (Zechariah 14:3-5) reminds us as readers to recall this terrifying event over 200 years later.
(Amos 1:1). Uzziah was king of Judah and Jeroboam II was king of Israel. Amos records the land being shaken (Amos 8:8), houses smashed (Amos 6:11), altars cracked (Amos 3:14), and even the Temple at Bethel getting struck and collapsing (Amos 9:1). The prophet’s repeated references to this earthquake’s effects is why it still bears his name.
This foreshadows Christ’s Return to earth. And both events show evidence of the earth’s “relationship reactions” to God its creator.
Now there is a bit of a plot twist I would like to throw out. We know that it is common knowledge the environment is changing. Meteorological events are hitting the news daily. Global warming is on everyone’s tongue. And yes! Earthquake’s are more frequent than ever.
One school of thought out there in theology land that you may have already heard, is the Birth Pains of the earth and prophecy. Some Christians refer to the increases in weather related phenomenon and the accelerated rate in the frequency of earthquakes to be the birth pains of prophecy as the last days and Christ’s return.
While I totally agree with this point of view and the fact that it can be proven scripturally (which follows in this teaching). I would like to enhance this wisdom with the point I am making in this article. The point being that all of creation has a relationship with Jesus the creator and the ability; Nay! Duty to worship and praise Him. (Psalm 150:6) Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord! (Psalm 145:21) My mouth shall speak the praise of the Lord, And all flesh shall bless His holy name Forever and ever.
Since mankind is failing miserably to repent and praise God. Creation is crying out more frequently in the form of “EARTHQUAKES.” The bible describes the last days of this creation as days when there will be a turning away from faith (falling away) and from the truth. Followed not too long after, famine, earthquakes, the moon turning to blood, and terrors and fears. This is creations way of crying out because we have our mouths muzzled instead of shouting Jesus’ praises. (Revelation 6:12) (Revelation 16:16-20) (Revelation 11:19) (Luke 21:25-28)
Falling Away
Scripture says if people will humble themselves, repent and turn from thier wicked ways God will heal our lands. (2 Chronicles 7:14) if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
Now, we are clearly not doing this; but, rather turning away from God instead. But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. (2 Corinthians 11:3) Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God. (2 Thessalonians 2:3-4)
As a Christian and bible wordsmith, I leap with joy and praise Jesus that the end is near. While at the same time, I weep with great travail for those lost and mortally wounded souls yet to find Salvation through Jesus.
Jesus’ Future Earthquake
The phrase “the beginning of birth pangs” is a translation of the Greek archē ōdin (ἀρχή ὠδίν). The meaning of the phrase, translated in the NKJV as “the beginning of sorrows” (Matthew 24:4-8)
And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.
In the following verse from the book of Isaiah, “birth” is a reference to the physical resurrection of the dead, the judgment of the gentile nations, the deliverance of the Jewish people, and ultimately, the redemption of the whole earth.
(Isaiah 26:16-19) Lord, in trouble they have visited You, They poured out a prayer when Your chastening was upon them. As a woman with child is in pain and cries out in her pangs, When she draws near the time of her delivery, So have we been in Your sight, O Lord. We have been with child, we have been in pain; We have, as it were, brought forth wind; We have not accomplished any deliverance in the earth, Nor have the inhabitants of the world fallen. Your dead shall live; Together with my dead body they shall arise. Awake and sing, you who dwell in dust; For your dew is like the dew of herbs, And the earth shall cast out the dead.
Creation Cries! The Son of Man Comes!
All of creation will convulse in upheaval with earthquakes. Creation Cries with the message that Jesus is Lord, the Messiah of God. “And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.” (Luke 21:25-28)
