In my last two articles, Have you left God in Bed and Breakfast with God. We learned the importance of starting your day off right. Start by hitting your knees in prayer. And savoring breakfast feeding on the presence and word of God.
Then, instead of leaving God at home in bed; Take Him with you, throughout your whole day. Walk and fellowship with Jesus in each and every moment.
Remember to be aware of your own carnal desires, flesh, and temptations thrown at you by the enemy. Stay vigilant, seek, and follow Jesus. Allow the Lord to reveal Himself to you. It might just surprise you to learn what many of you have been missing in your life.Continue reading →
Breakfast with God
As a Christian you receive from God certain tools for your job. These are called the Gifts of the Spirit. We show up for work and clock in through prayer. One of the perks of this job is every day starts enjoying breakfast with God.
Breakfast starts with God outlining each days purpose and goals. Breakfast continues with the Holy Spirit equipping, instructing, and teaching us exactly how to achieve our daily objectives. This is where the Holy Spirit gives us the necessary tools or Gifts for success.
After Breakfast Jesus takes us in stride to walk with us and intercede in case any troubles should arise. This is provided that you have even bothered to show up for work and feast at Gods Table.Continue reading →
Have you left God in Bed?
Most Christians have either quoted or heard the verse, “Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve.” (Joshua 24:15)
I challenge you to think about what it really means, to ‘choose’ who you are serving. The verse says, “this day.” That allows most people too much wiggle room.
I like to interpret, and think of it more in the context of: Making an ongoing moment by moment choice to serve God.
We can all awake fresh. Just out of our nightly slumber; hit our knees or lie still in quite prayer to start the day. And then what,………..?
For most, this is the first and sadly the last choice to even acknowledge Jesus’ presence for the entire day! This same type person latter that evening, when the day’s duties have been shed. Turn once again to the Lord and bellyache about having had an awful day.Continue reading →
Prayer or Complaint
There are many people who are unhappy with their environment. Constantly house hopping, and always looking to make a change, is really a futile exercise in self inflicted stress.
Where you are living and dwelling, is exactly where the Lord wants you to be. Settle in and make a difference. If you feel that you must relocate; then listen and pray for the Lord’s guidance, before moving or purchasing a new home. Prayer or Complaint?Continue reading →
I can not understand how someone can be a true follower of Jesus and throw out half of what He said. Isn’t that like someone nodding their head and saying, “Uh-huh.” When you know their not really listening.
This kind of behavior can leave a person thinking that the other person is unwilling to engage in meaningful conversation. Or… Just blatantly ignoring you and too self absorbed in themselves to listen.
So many times, I talk to people about the Sabbath really being on Saturday, or of the importance of studying the Old Testament to have a balance diet to feed on scriptural understanding. I usually get a predictable response.
Now, don’t think that I have fallen off of my rocker; but, I was bellyaching to the Lord that I “needed” an old wooden bucket. My whiny prayers were for a wood bucket befitting my beautiful roses.
Properly cared for roses require a lot of deadheading and pruning to keep them healthy and productive. All of this foliage must be kept separate from all other compost since roses are susceptible to a myriad of diseases.
I had been collecting all of these cuttings into a small used black plastic plant container, weighted down with a rock in the bottom to keep it from blowing over or away. I would then empty these each time I threw out the household trash.
I was bellyaching in prayer that I “needed” a bucket, when in reality, I “wanted” an old wooden bucket to pair up with my beautiful tea roses.Continue reading →
“Honey, Let’s go fishing today.” Ted called to his wife. Hoping that she would answer with her usual and emphatic response, “I thought you’d never ask.”
Instead Mandy answered, “I’m feeling a little under the weather. I don’t think I would be very good company today.” Mandy sensed Ted’s disappointment and knew his protective nature. She quickly followed her rejection with, “Why don’t you ask Chase to tag along with you. Besides, I could use some quite time to myself with a bowl of chicken soup anyway.”
In 1545, William Turner wrote a version of the expression, “Birds of a feather flock together” in the Rescuing of Romish Fox: “Byrdes of on kynde and color flok and flye allwayes together.” This old saying is still just as true today.
American laws will prosecute people for being an accessory to a crime. It is a way of holding everyone accountable for the laws of the land; even those who stand idly by and let their friends, family, spouse, peers, and neighbors do what is wrong in the sight of mans laws.
This is guilt by association as an accessory by condoning those negligent actions; Compromising that which they know to be wrong.
I propose to you;Think ofhow much more God will hold you and I accountable for compromise. Compromise is the vehicle by which we have joined in on the sin by acceptance of the sins around us.We should not hesitate to do the right thing.
For several ‘unmentioned’ reasons I was forced to rebuild my fence. While in the midst of this laborious task my mind kept racing down several deer trails of why we want or sometimes “must” build fences. Even to the thoughts of those fences which demand destruction.
My mind ran wild running down deer trail after deer trail until: I caught hold of the truths the Lord would have us know. I will not bore you, and run you “too” down every length of deer trail I eagerly sailed. Instead, I will serve you up some venison stew. Filled with the tasty morsels I gathered to feed your spiritual walk.
I get really ”sick and tired” of all the false doctrines; teaching the ‘name it and claim it’ prosperity bandwagon of 21st century ‘religions’.
I agree completely with everything the whole bible teaches as long as the word is rightly divided in truth. (2 Timothy 2:15) Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Satan is Hell Bent on perverting God’s Word! This ‘name it and claim it’ perverted false doctrine comes from (James 4:2). Taught simply as, “You have not because you ask not.” This abridged version is Satan’s half truth, which equals a whole lie. This false teaching lures Believers into selfish secular desires of worldly things. Verses 3 through 8 get completely thrown out the window.
