Lesser but not Least
Jesus created the Sun and the Moon to rule the Day and Night (Genesis 1:16). He did not say that the Moon was inferior just Lesser (Strong’s #6996). The Hebrew word Qatan translates in this passage as smaller. Same word Qatan is used another time in (Ezekiel 43:14) in the building of the Altar of Sacrifice, hear the word is already translated smaller in its usage.
OK! So what is my point?
We place great importance on the preachers, teachers, deacons, elders, singers, etc…. and all the other feel good people in our churches.
My point is that we need not forget the “small” Qatan children or people considered lesser in the congregation, this is the future of the Church. Arguably you can not have a future time line without Day and Night. So it is, there would not be a future (Your Church) without feeding and building the congregation (Acts 20:28).
Jesus taught us the importance of the children in (Matthew 19:14). One day these children will be preachers, teachers, deacons, elders, and singers in our Churches.
Henceforth, just as at night we have in the Heavens a Moon to shed a little light on the Earth by showing its reflection of the Sun. Continually doing its job controlling the ebb and flow of the waters across the entire world.
Let our congregation and little children be a reflection of the Son Jesus Christ bearing fruit on the road to Kingdom dynamics (Matthew 6:10). Continually doing our Christian duties by letting the Holy Spirit ebb and flow like waters throughout our lands unquenched (1 Thessalonians 5:19) by theology or superfluous attitudes.
Let your Light Shine! (Matthew 5:16). The next time you are outside at night take a look at the Moon’s reflection of the Sun and decide if you are being Lesser or Least in your reflection of the Son Jesus Christ.
